"Dog flu" is going around Chicagoland. The symptoms look very much like kennel cough, but this is a different bug. There is currently no vaccine for this condition. It is generally not life threatening, but it is very contagious. It is spread by breathing the same air or coming in contact with any type of body fluids from a sick dog. Dogs can catch this anywhere that an infected dog is or has been (i.e., dog parks and beaches, shelters, kennels...even sidewalks other dogs have been on). Owners of very young, very old, or already sick dogs need to be especially careful.

In the months of October and February, we celebrate dental health month. Our pets need regular dental care just as we do. Research has shown that pets who receive regular dental cleaning on average live 3-4 years longer than pets who receive no dental care. During dental health month, we offer a discount on dental services and a goody bag containing various products to help you maintain your pet's oral health at home. Many pets, especially small breed dogs, benefit greatly from having their teeth cleaned yearly. Please call our office to schedule your pet's dental appointment.
