AAHA-Accredited

Golf-Mil Veterinary Hospital has been an AAHA-accredited hospital since 1971. This status applies to the small animal side of our practice, which is devoted to meeting the needs of dogs and cats and their owners. Like you, we regard pets as members of the family and believe they should be treated as such. To ensure the best care and service, we knew that becoming AAHA-accredited was the right decision for our practice. To learn more about what our AAHA accreditation means to us, give us a call at (847) 269-3359 or experience it yourself by making an appointment today!

What is AAHA?

The American Animal Hospital Association is the sole accrediting organization for veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. It was established to raise the standards of veterinary medicine and give animal hospitals the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Since 1933, approximately 15% of all small animal practices in North America have received accreditation. Taking the path to accreditation is completely voluntary and requires the full commitment of the entire veterinary staff to achieve.

What makes a hospital accredited?

Many different factors, large and small, go into elevating a practice to accreditation status. In fact, Golf-Mil Veterinary Hospital must pass a rigorous evaluation of more than 900 standards to stay accredited. These standards fall into such categories as patient care, client service, surgical safety, medical protocols, and many more.

AAHA accreditation is not mandatory. But for our team and for the hospital that has been a part of Golf-Mil Veterinary Hospital for generations, we know that you and your pet should expect nothing less.
